A Month in the Swamp

Launch day at Swamp Club

Today Swamp Club announced a $7 million seed round and the general availability of Swamp. The thirty days since I joined feel like three months compressed into 24 hours.

The scope of what’s possible has shifted dramatically with these new tools. That’s been super evident joining the team at Swamp Club. Merging a PR in your first week used to be a standard onboarding goal. In my first week I merged 17 PRs. Since then I built stagecraft, an extension for building factories that includes a web app for visualizing the factory design. I’m sharing this not to brag (well, maybe a little), but to celebrate what’s unlocked in this new era. It’s exhilarating.

A big part of what has made this velocity possible is the software factory we use. We start with an issue and have an agent plan, write, and verify. But the agent doesn’t decide what happens next. The workflow owns the control flow and ensures steps can’t be skipped. It’s an example of what we’re calling behavior-centric AI design. Swamp is a platform for building stuff in a behavior-centric way.

Congratulations, Swamp Club. Thanks for bringing me on. I’m looking forward to building more with you. This is just the start.

If you’ve gotten this far and are curious about Swamp, today’s a good day to kick the tires.
